Our Story

Our Beginning

Our company was veteran founded in March 2014. Our name came from our love of our country and the honor we have had to serve it.

We started by renovating old homes by chance. We found a house and figured we could “flip” the house and make a profit. We both had construction experience to draw from, so we figured we could make an educated guess on how to do it. It took us a lot longer than we planned, but we were able to stay in budget and got it done in the end. As with any new endevor, we learned a lot from it, and (fortunately) did end up making a profit.

We found we enjoyed the work, and working together, so we decided to get a little more serious about it, and that is when Ol Glory LLC was born.

Why do we do it? Every construction project presents a challenge, offering both personal and professional satisfaction.

Quality Above All

We’ve seen too many quick fixes turn into costly problems down the road, which is why we choose to do things right the first time.

Our commitment to proper repairs may take more time, but it means we won’t be adding another band-aid to an existing problem.

Breathing New Life Into Old Structures

The majority of our work focuses on older homes and structures that need serious repair. We strip away years of quick fixes and patch jobs to rebuild these spaces properly, blending traditional methods with modern standards.

Each project adds to our knowledge of time-tested building techniques – knowledge we now share with fellow DIY enthusiasts.

Our First Commercial Project

Our first commercial project was a restoration of an 1800s log cabin for a local art gallery expansion. The client wanted the natural heritage and feel of the cabin to be on display. We kept all the original hand-hewn logs and crafted doors using traditional hand-planing techniques, just as they would have been made in the 1800s. The ceiling features reclaimed barnwood that adds warmth and character to the space. Inside, we created a special display box that showcases the original log work, while still meeting the gallery’s needs with sheetrocked walls for art display.

This project showed us there’s a real interest in preserving old-school building methods, which got us thinking about sharing these skills with others through DIY education.

Building New Projects

There is also great satisfaction in a new build with a blank canvas to create. This can be from large structural buildings to landscaping to just projects and crafts around the house.

Whether we’re framing a new home, designing an outdoor living space, or building custom furniture, we apply the same careful attention to detail that defines our restoration work. Each new project is a chance to think outside the box and blend modern building methods with time-tested craftsmanship.
